Dr. Mercedes has expanded her training in the medical field by becoming a certified esthetician with further advanced trainings as a holistic (mind, emotion, body and, spirit) skin specialist. She utilizes unique customized “rhythmic treatments” for each client. Rhythmic treatments use a holistic approach to support the skin’s inherent ability to regulate and heal itself. An example of this form of treatment used by Dr. Mercedes is her gentle technique of stimulating the lymph flow (vital element) which increases one’s immune system. She then combines this with her use of natural products and her customized blends that cleanse and restore externally. Dr. Mercedes takes great care to provide a healing gentle touch and educate her clients in ways to nurture their skin and balanced wellbeing. I. Detox Breathing
Be guided through deep breathing techniques across your session. Good breathing sends a code to the brain helping to adjust a wide range of ailments and rejuvenates the body.
II. Deep Cleansing-Hydration
Two different masks applied as needed often with feather like brushes to first clean and then hydrate the skin. These masks utilize a variety of organic Dr. Hauschka, Weleda and Custom made formulations to specifically address your skin type and concerns.
III. Lymphatic Stimulation
Our lymph system helps cleanse and remove impurities. Receive a gentle, precise and soothing stimulation of your lymph system primarily in the facial and arm areas to help cleanse and oxygenate your skin and body.
IV. Aromatherapy
Experience a dance for your senses. Carefully chosen organic products are prepared to release their gifts of aroma. The aroma and life force of the plant extracts increase calmness and sense of peace.

Biography:
Dr. Mercedes Gershenson, is a foreign trained dental surgeon and holistic skin-care specialist, and has relocated her Frida Natural Dermabalance services to Green Wave Family Wellness Center here in Panama City, Florida. She grew up in Merida City, in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Following her family tradition of healers extending from her grandmothers to her parents (who are still active in the medical fields), she attained a diploma from the University of Mexico in Dental Surgery. From very young, Dr. Mercedes expressed feeling lucky to have two “Gran Maestras”
in the healing arts. One was a pioneer in Mexico in Lymphatic therapy and natural medicine, and the other was a therapist for patients in the terminal stages of disease. With their mentoring and overall family support, she was able to continue studying in Europe to become a certified Lymphatic Therapist. Returning to Yucatan, she became a member of the staff in the Medical Diagnostic Center where she gave therapy for pain and edemas, as well as skincare.
More recently Dr. Mercedes moved to the United States following her marriage to Meir Gershenson who is a physicist active with the US Navy. Here in the United States, she has been able to study current techniques which are used world wide in skin and health care. Dr. Mercedes’s diligent training has assisted her in making sure her clients in skin care only receive the best therapeutic qualities of Organic/ Biodynamic plant essences, extracts, and oils available. Dr. Mercedes strongly support the use of Biodynamic agriculture which supports the intrinsic qualities of each plant and helps eliminate the need for synthetic fertilizers. In addition, in this approach, natural predators like ladybugs take the place of chemical pesticides. Further with this approach, the natural rhythms of the moon cycles, seasons and cosmic patterns dictate the farm’s schedule just as they did in the ancient Mayan Civilization. These healthier plants have a greater healing potential for the human body, and the farming techniques are more environmentally friendly. Overall, as stated by Dr. Mercedes, “I enjoy knowing that I am providing the best possible skin care therapy for my clients. I believe to look and feel beautiful we don’t have to change the way we look, but rather take care of and enhance what we already have.
